Look no further! You can enjoy miles of cycle routes through beautiful Cornish countryside without getting in the car ...
If you're looking to cycle on the Sustrans route, it conveniently runs alongside Whalesborough and local bike hire can be arranged. You can keep off the roads completely and cycle along paths beside the canal or head inland and discover our little villages which hardly notice the summer tourist season.
You can also cycle from the cottages across the farm and down to the sea.
The Camel Trail is another great cycling destination just a 30 minute drive away. The Camel Trail cycle path follows the line of a disused railway, runs along the beautiful Camel Estuary from Padstow to Wadebridge (approx 6 miles). The Tarka Trail in North Devon is also within an easy drive.
There is plenty of space here to store your bikes or you can hire from many local cycle hire businesses.
Cottages sleep between 2 and 11 people and cost from £390 per week.
Our stunning 18m indoor heated swimming pool is now open along with steam room, sauna, gym and spa.
We have spent a lovely week here and have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The cottage is beautiful and very comfortable with a fabulous view to go with it. It's a very special place and has been highly recommended to us by friends who have stayed here. We'll be recommending it too. The food (especially the steak) at the Weir bistro is delicious and well worth the visit.
Amazing place, truly beautiful cottage. We will be back soon.
Visited the new bistro which was lovely, staff friendly and helpful, also attended the cheese and wine evening, which gave us the chance to sample the wonderful chees which is made on site here and also to meet Sue and Frazer which was nice to hear more of what goes on here with the farm. Both are lovely welcoming people. Another visit will be on the cards I'm sure.
A lovely location, accommodation and welcome which helped ensure a great holiday. Guys at Raven Surf School were patient and very helpful with great warm equipment, really recommend them.
Another lovely week, would recommend Crackington Haven, Padstow to Bodmin bike ride, with a stop for a lovely glass of wine at Camel Valley Vineyard. Bossiney beach (near Tintagel) and loved the local beach, Widemouth great for surf and games.
This is our 4th time at Whalesborough Holiday Cottages and we have had a great time and we always do. I always love playing in the games barn. The beaches are really cool and the waves are good to surf on and I hope we will be back soon
It was so lovely here, I didn't want to leave. I loved feeding the pigs and playing in the games barn. When you come I suggest you go surfing. Shout out to Raven Surf School who are the best surf coaches ever. Bude is so dog friendly, our dog loved it here. We will definitely come back.
Thank you James and family for such a warm welcome. The cottage has been first class, clean with everything we could possibly want. Henry and Emelia give you 10/10 for the pool & play barn - I have improved my pool & table skills too. The walk down the canal is lovely and we even managed to catch some Brown Trout! Our favourite beach was probably Widemouth Bay as the surf was so good for us to try out our body boards (good job we invested in wet suits though as the sea is still a bit nippy even in July). We loved Port Isaac, but Padstow was just a bit too busy - if you do go - go early! Looking forward to our next visit - beautiful part of the world 7 excellent place to stay.
I wasn't well before I came, mum and dad were very worried about me. The long walks and fresh air have bought me back to life. Love the underfloor heating.
This has been the perfect way to start the year. The cottage is lovely and so nice and warm. Perfect place to come back to after wonderful walks in this sunning area. Cant wait to come back.
Thanks for a lovely stay at the beautiful home. We all had a great time and enjoyed the walks. Lots of things to do on the doorstep, we all had lots of fun. We will be back again.
A very spacious house, with lovely coastal walks. A couple of brilliant days out spent at Crackington Haven. The children loved feeding the animals, the play barn and the playground by The Weir, even in the dark. Had great fun 'Geo Coaching' for the first time too.
We had a fantastic week at Whalesborough Holiday Cottages, the house is amazing and we could all quite happily live here. Its been made all the more special by the amazing Cornish weather. The house is bright, peaceful and extremely comfortable. We've enjoyed discovering what Cornwall has to offer from the coastal walk to Bude, exploring Tintagel and walking the Camel Trail to Padstow.
