Arundell is one of Whalesborough’s finest cottages — rated Five Star Gold by Visit England and built to match. The sweeping open-plan kitchen, dining and living space opens through full-height bifold doors onto a private garden, flooding the interior with light and sea-edged air. A Bose Bluetooth speaker, 42” TV and wood burner complete the picture. All guests enjoy full access to the W Club spa, indoor pool and a seasonal outdoor pool, gym and The Weir Restaurant.
Arundell is arranged across two storeys with a layout that feels genuinely generous. The ground floor is anchored by a large open-plan living, kitchen and dining space — the kind of room that draws everyone together — with full-height bifold doors dissolving the boundary between inside and garden. A wood burner anchors the sitting area for cooler evenings, while the Bose speaker and 42” TV mean you’re well set for nights in. All three bedrooms have their own balcony, making the most of the Cornish landscape at every turn.
Beyond the cottage, every Arundell guest has complimentary access to the W Club — Whalesborough’s spa and leisure club. Swim in the indoor pool (kept at a constant 29–30°C), take a dip in the seasonal outdoor pool, unwind in the sauna and steam room, or work out in the fully equipped Technogym gym. The Weir Restaurant is on-estate for relaxed, unhurried lunches. With dogs welcome and private estate trails running from the door, it’s set up for a proper break.
Whalesborough is a 428-acre working estate on the North Cornwall coast, a few minutes from the surf town of Bude and the wide golden sands of Widemouth Bay. Private trails run from the cottage door across the estate and down toward the sea, and the South West Coast Path is close in both directions — this is the quieter, less-trodden coast: real Cornwall, without the August queues.
At the heart of the estate, the W Club spa, indoor pool and a seasonal outdoor pool and The Weir Restaurant are all yours to enjoy. Bude has everything you need — proper coffee, good pubs and a chip shop or two worth the walk — while Tintagel, Boscastle and Padstow are all an easy drive when you fancy a day out.
