The space
Vaulted open-plan living area at Beachcombers cottage, Whalesborough Farm Resort

Beachcombers is a light-drenched single-storey cottage with a dramatic vaulted ceiling and large Velux windows that pour natural light into every corner. Two light grey leather sofas face a contemporary wood burner beneath the soaring roofline, while full-length garden doors open onto the generous south-west-facing garden. The gloss cream kitchen — complete with white Silstone worktops, integrated Bosch appliances and a breakfast bar with stools — is ideal for relaxed evenings in. Both bedrooms have painted wooden furniture and their own en-suite bathrooms, and underfloor heating runs throughout the cottage.

As a guest at Whalesborough you have complimentary access to the W Club — the estate's private spa and leisure facility. Swim in the indoor pool (kept at a steady 29–30°C), take to the outdoor pool in the warmer months, unwind in the sauna or steam room, or keep active in the Technogym-equipped gym. The Weir Restaurant serves estate-sourced menus year round. The grounds are fully dog-friendly, with private trails to explore directly from the cottage door.

The estate & the coast

Whalesborough is a 428-acre working estate on the North Cornwall coast, a few minutes from the surf town of Bude and the wide golden sands of Widemouth Bay. Private trails run from the cottage door across the estate and down toward the sea, and the South West Coast Path is close in both directions — this is the quieter, less-trodden coast: real Cornwall, without the August queues.

At the heart of the estate, the W Club spa, indoor pool and a seasonal outdoor pool and The Weir Restaurant are all yours to enjoy. Bude has everything you need — proper coffee, good pubs and a chip shop or two worth the walk — while Tintagel, Boscastle and Padstow are all an easy drive when you fancy a day out.
