Originally a calf rearing shed in the 1980s, Calf House has been entirely reimagined as one of Whalesborough's most celebrated retreats. The open-plan lounge anchors the property: a corner sofa, designer reclining chair and a contemporary wood burner sit beneath vaulted ceilings, all warmed by underfloor heating throughout. The kitchen runs straight into the dining area with a table for nine — perfect for evenings in. Four bedrooms and three bathrooms accommodate eight guests with ease, and the secluded patio garden houses a private hot tub under open skies.
Step outside and the whole Whalesborough estate is yours. The W Club offers a heated indoor pool (29–30°C year-round), a seasonal outdoor pool, sauna, steam room and a fully equipped Technogym gym. The Weir Restaurant serves produce sourced from the working estate itself — hearty breakfasts and long, lazy lunches. Dogs are warmly welcomed at Calf House, with private grounds and open estate trails to explore from the door.
Whalesborough is a 428-acre working estate on the North Cornwall coast, a few minutes from the surf town of Bude and the wide golden sands of Widemouth Bay. Private trails run from the cottage door across the estate and down toward the sea, and the South West Coast Path is close in both directions — this is the quieter, less-trodden coast: real Cornwall, without the August queues.
At the heart of the estate, the W Club spa, indoor pool and a seasonal outdoor pool and The Weir Restaurant are all yours to enjoy. Bude has everything you need — proper coffee, good pubs and a chip shop or two worth the walk — while Tintagel, Boscastle and Padstow are all an easy drive when you fancy a day out.
