Eagle's Nest
A Five Star Gold cottage for six on a 428-acre Cornish estate
Contemporary luxury for six, with balcony views and a west-facing garden for long Cornish evenings
Built in 2014 and awarded Five Star Gold by VisitEngland, Eagle's Nest sets a high bar for self-catering. The open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge flows effortlessly to the garden through full-width bifold doors, while neutral porcelain tiles, a large dining table and a contemporary wood burner create a space that's as beautiful to cook in as it is to relax. All three bedrooms offer balcony access, and every stay includes complimentary access to the W Club spa, pools and The Weir Restaurant on the estate.
Eagle's Nest is arranged over two storeys and comfortably sleeps six. The standout feature is the double-height open-plan ground floor — kitchen, dining and lounge combined — where full-width bifold doors dissolve the boundary between inside and out. Neutral porcelain tiles, a statement wood burner and a large dining table make this a space designed for gathering. All three bedrooms enjoy balcony access, making the most of the elevated position and the green calm of the surrounding estate.
As a guest of Eagle's Nest you have complimentary access to the W Club — the estate's private spa and leisure club. Swim in the indoor pool maintained at 29–30°C, or take to the seasonal outdoor pool. There's also a sauna, steam room and fully equipped Technogym gym. The Weir Restaurant is on the estate for relaxed dining, and the grounds offer private trails to explore. Dogs are very welcome at no extra charge.
Whalesborough is a 428-acre working estate on the North Cornwall coast, a few minutes from the surf town of Bude and the wide golden sands of Widemouth Bay. Private trails run from the cottage door across the estate and down toward the sea, and the South West Coast Path is close in both directions — this is the quieter, less-trodden coast: real Cornwall, without the August queues.
At the heart of the estate, the W Club spa, indoor pool and a seasonal outdoor pool and The Weir Restaurant are all yours to enjoy. Bude has everything you need — proper coffee, good pubs and a chip shop or two worth the walk — while Tintagel, Boscastle and Padstow are all an easy drive when you fancy a day out.
