Jack's House

A barn conversion with half a century of estate history woven into its beams

Named after a workman who gave more than 50 years to the Whalesborough Estate, Jack's House wears its character honestly: exposed ceiling beams, tiled floors warmed by underfloor heating and a high-gloss kitchen with granite worktops and quality appliances. Large glass doors connect the kitchen to the garden, while the separate lounge — corner sofa, tub chair, reading table — is made for slow evenings. Guests also enjoy full access to the W Club spa, indoor pool and a seasonal outdoor pool and The Weir Restaurant.

Jack's House is arranged across two storeys, sleeping five guests across three bedrooms. The kitchen is a proper working space — high-gloss units, granite worktops, quality appliances — with large glass doors opening out to the east-facing patio and valley view beyond. The separate lounge is generously sized, centred on a corner sofa and tub chair beneath the original exposed beams. Underfloor heating keeps the tiled ground floor warm year-round, lending the barn a comfort that sits easily alongside its character.

Guests at Jack's House have full use of the W Club: indoor pool held at 29–30°C, seasonal outdoor pool, sauna, steam room and a Technogym-equipped gym. The Weir Restaurant serves breakfast and lunch using produce grown and reared on the estate. The east-facing patio catches the morning sun, and the wider grounds of the 428-acre working estate are right on your doorstep. Dogs are welcome — up to two, at no extra charge.
