Trevelyan
A Five Star Gold cottage for six on a 428-acre Cornish estate
Where a blue leather sofa, a wood burner and valley views conspire to keep you in all day
Trevelyan's cream gloss kitchen, dark granite worktops and Bosch appliances anchor the lower floor, while the lounge is centred on a striking blue leather corner sofa and a contemporary wood burner. Bifold doors open the west-facing garden to the sky, and the separate reading area frames the valley beyond. W Club spa, indoor pool and resort amenities are all included with your stay.
Built in 2014 and awarded Five Star Gold by VisitEngland, Trevelyan is designed to impress from the moment you step inside. The cream gloss kitchen comes fully equipped with dark granite worktops and Bosch appliances, and the dining table extends to seat all six guests. The main living space is anchored by a striking blue leather corner sofa with lounger alongside a separate three-seater, all centred on a contemporary wood burner. A dedicated valley-view reading area adds a peaceful counterpoint, while bifold doors open the west-facing garden wide to the Cornish sky.
Resort facilities are included for all guests throughout your stay. The W Club offers an indoor heated pool at 29–30°C, a seasonal outdoor pool, sauna, steam room and a Technogym-equipped gym. The Weir Restaurant serves breakfast and lunch using produce from the working estate, and the bar is open throughout the day. Miles of private trails run directly from the cottage across the 428-acre estate. Dogs are very welcome — up to two per cottage, with no additional charge.
Whalesborough is a 428-acre working estate on the North Cornwall coast, a few minutes from the surf town of Bude and the wide golden sands of Widemouth Bay. Private trails run from the cottage door across the estate and down toward the sea, and the South West Coast Path is close in both directions — this is the quieter, less-trodden coast: real Cornwall, without the August queues.
At the heart of the estate, the W Club spa, indoor pool and a seasonal outdoor pool and The Weir Restaurant are all yours to enjoy. Bude has everything you need — proper coffee, good pubs and a chip shop or two worth the walk — while Tintagel, Boscastle and Padstow are all an easy drive when you fancy a day out.
