Whalesborough Cottage
A Five Star Gold cottage for eight on a 428-acre Cornish estate
A former livestock barn reborn as one of Cornwall’s finest escapes
Three distinctive living spaces make Whalesborough Cottage perfect for groups who want to gather together or spread out. Across four ensuite bedrooms sleeping eight, bifold doors open to a private garden with a hot tub, and views stretch across the former Whalesborough Estate. As a guest you also enjoy full access to the W Club spa — indoor pool, outdoor pool, sauna, steam room, Technogym gym and The Weir Restaurant — all within the estate grounds.
Formerly a 17th-century livestock barn, Whalesborough Cottage has been transformed into a beautifully appointed retreat for up to eight guests. Three distinct living spaces give groups the flexibility to be together or apart, while the open-plan kitchen and dining area — with a statement wood burner — draws everyone back together come evening. All four bedrooms are fully ensuite, and bifold doors from the main living space fold back to reveal a private garden and a hot tub with views across the estate.
Guests at Whalesborough Cottage enjoy complimentary access to the W Club, the resort’s premium spa facility. The indoor pool is held at a constant 29–30°C year-round; the outdoor pool opens seasonally. Add a sauna, steam room and a fully equipped Technogym gym, and The Weir Restaurant serving seasonal estate-sourced dishes, and you have everything you need without ever leaving the grounds. The estate is fully dog-friendly — well-behaved dogs are as welcome as their owners.
Whalesborough is a 428-acre working estate on the North Cornwall coast, a few minutes from the surf town of Bude and the wide golden sands of Widemouth Bay. Private trails run from the cottage door across the estate and down toward the sea, and the South West Coast Path is close in both directions — this is the quieter, less-trodden coast: real Cornwall, without the August queues.
At the heart of the estate, the W Club spa, indoor pool and a seasonal outdoor pool and The Weir Restaurant are all yours to enjoy. Bude has everything you need — proper coffee, good pubs and a chip shop or two worth the walk — while Tintagel, Boscastle and Padstow are all an easy drive when you fancy a day out.
