October Half term
Whalesborough is the best place to spend your family half term. Enjoy your luxury cottage, surrounded by 400+ acres of countryside, head to the local beaches, enjoy food in our onsite restaurant or really relax in our indoor pool and spa. Whatever you do this October Half Term, it’s worth doing at Whalesborough.

Our cottages and location give you the best of both worlds; you’re going to be close to nearby beaches (Widemouth Bay and the beaches at Bude are going to be your locals), whilst also being set in a whopping 480 acres of countryside. Sleeping 2 – 10, each of our award-winning cottages are the perfect place for a family to spend a half term… and the dog can come too!

Holidays should always include a little relaxation. If that’s what you’re after then head to our onsite spa for a treatment or perhaps even a spa day! Sound too relaxing? Your family can enjoy the indoor pool during your stay, or even head to the gym if you’re wanting to keep on top of your health and fitness routine while you’re away.

Enjoy great food and give yourself a break from having to cook it! Eat breakfast (daily til noon), lunch or supper at affordable prices from our tantalising menu or just pop in for a freshly ground coffee and mouth-watering slice of cake. If the weather doesn’t play ball this half term, enjoy it in front of our real log fire. We also have heaters on the terrace for those cold but bright days.

Whalesborough Farm is home to a wide range of animals, all of whom are absolutely brilliant with children of all ages! There are alpacas, chickens, possibly the friendliest sheep in the land, as well as cute goats…. Oh, and don’t forget the ducks…. or the pony! You’ll be able to enjoy animal feeding on specific mornings, as well as spending a little time with these important Whalesborough family members during your stay.

We know what you’re thinking; you’ve given this section the title of ‘the beaches’ but there’s a photograph of a sea pool! Well, let us explain…. This isn’t just any sea pool, this is Bude sea pool, also known as the best in England if you read The Times newspaper! So we thought it definitely deserved the photograph slot here! That’s not to say we weren’t tempted by gorgeous photos of Widemouth Bay or Bude, both of which are nearby!

Whalesborough is the perfect place for families to call home during the half term week. We’re close to the coast, set in gorgeous countryside and have great travel links no matter where you’re coming from. If that wasn’t enough, there’s the onsite spa, the restaurant, your own luxury cottage and plenty of areas to play. You’re also within daytrip distance to the rest of Cornwall.

We can’t overstate how stunning the countryside is around Whalesborough. The walk down the canal to Bude is around three miles, but well worth exploring. If you’re headed in the other direction, then the Whalesborough trail will take you all the way to Widemouth Bay, which is also around a three mile trot. Both are flat, so great for any age or fitness level.

If you’re brining the dog with you then they’re going to have as good a time as you do! All of our cottages are dog friendly and come with a doggy welcome pack to make sure they feel right at home. The beaches at this time of year are all dog friendly (but do check) and there’s an onsite shower to get that sand of their paws. If you don’t head to the beach, there’s plenty of walks to take and our onsite restaurant is also incredibly popular with dogs.
