Child Friendly Activities
With the beach walking distance away, and everything else within driving distance, there’s plenty of places to take the family during your stay.
There are so many fun experiences to share with the kids – canoeing on the canal, sea kayaking, swimming in our large indoor or outdoor heated pools, sea or river fishing, surf lessons, cycling around the farm or exploring the cycle path which runs alongside the farm.
Why not explore the fabulous area that Whalesborough is in? The Camel Trail is a multi-purpose trail in Northern Cornwall, and is used by hikers, cyclists and horse riders; it is relatively flat, which makes it fully accessible to those with disabilities.
There is bike hire available in Padstow, Wadebridge or Bodmin for those who don’t have their own bikes with them.
The North Cornish Coast is a haven for surfers, and one of the best surf beaches is just on your doorstep. If you are a beginner we can organise some surf lessons with our local beach’s own European Surf Champ – Mike Raven. Once you’ve got the basics you can hire boards right here on the beach.
If you are more experienced there are a range of beaches within easy driving distance. Have a look at our interactive map to see all the breaks with some great photos. You’ll find the locals pretty friendly. Our beaches are big and plentiful – there is lots of room for everyone.
For those who want a short easy ride or stroll for the whole family, Shell Woods, situated between Bisland and Helland, is the perfect opportunity. This beautiful wooded stretch of the trail follows the meandering course of the river.
Come the evening watch the sunset while you enjoy a friendly family meal at the Bay View Inn before a light stroll back to the cottages across the farm. Or grab some fresh fish from our local shop and enjoy your luxury five star quality kitchen.
With ASDA and Riverford deliveries and a lovely cycle or stroll down the canal to great shops in Bude you’ll find it easy to forget where you left the car keys.
