What's On
There's always something
happening at Whalesborough.
From free family days meeting the animals to lazy afternoons of live music by the lake — our seasonal events programme runs all year at The Weir and across the estate.
The Programme
Good food, great drinks, and brilliant people.
Throughout the year we organise a number of events that bring together everything we love about this place — the working estate, the lake, the food from our own market garden, and the people who make Whalesborough feel like home.
Because our events follow the seasons, dates move from year to year. The examples below are the favourites that come round again and again. For confirmed dates, follow us on Facebook and Instagram @theweirbude or sign up for the latest.

Free · For the whole family
Meet the Animals.
There's a whole host of animals that call Whalesborough home — and on our Meet the Animals days, you can get to know them. Meet us at The Weir and we'll shuttle you up to our farm to meet the residents, before shuttling you back down for some well-earned refreshments by the lake.
It's free, it's family-friendly, and it's a must-not-miss for you and the kids. Spaces are limited and these days get busy, so sign-up and early access go to our newsletter subscribers and followers first. Why not make a day of it and book a table for lunch while you're here?
Through the Year

Seasonal · Afternoons
Live Music by the Lake
Every now and then we fill an afternoon with live music, feel-good vibes and relaxed lakeside energy — past sets have included Music with Yazzy. Settle in with the food specials, a cocktail or two, and someone special.
Spring · Easter
Easter Specials & Hot Cross Buns
Sweet treats through the Easter holidays, with freshly baked hot cross buns to enjoy alongside your coffee or breakfast. On Easter Sunday we top the menu with specials — think lamb chops or homemade shepherd's pie, with meat from our own farm.
Weekends · Sport
Watch the Match
We screen the big games over the weekends, including some late kick-offs, with TVs outside in the sun and the bar open for drinks and snacks. So who will you be supporting? Fixtures and timings go out on our socials.
Stay in the Loop
Be first to hear what's on.
Our events follow the seasons, so the best way to never miss one is to follow along. We post confirmed dates as soon as they land — and newsletter subscribers get first word and early access to the popular ones.

What events does Whalesborough host?
Whalesborough runs a seasonal programme of events at The Weir Restaurant and across the estate. Past and recurring favourites include our free family Meet the Animals days, occasional live music afternoons, Easter Sunday specials and hot cross buns, and Watch the Match screening weekends. Dates change with the seasons, so we share the latest on Facebook and Instagram (@theweirbude) or via our newsletter.
What is Meet the Animals?
Meet the Animals is a free family event. You meet at The Weir Restaurant and a shuttle takes you up to the Whalesborough farm to meet the animals that call the estate home, before shuttling you back down to The Weir for refreshments. It's family-friendly and a firm favourite with children. Because spaces are limited, sign-up or early access is offered through our newsletter and socials.
How do I find out about upcoming events?
The best way to keep up with what's on is to follow The Weir on Facebook (facebook.com/theweirbude) and Instagram (@theweirbude), where we post dates as they're confirmed. You can also sign up to our newsletter to get first word on new menus, seasonal events and the occasional surprise.
Are events suitable for families?
Yes. Many of our events are designed with families in mind — Meet the Animals is free for the whole family, and The Weir is dog-friendly with an outdoor children's play area and a Lakeside Locals club where kids eat free on Fridays. Other events such as our live music afternoons are aimed at couples or groups of friends, so check the details for each event.
