Whalesborough has been designed to let you drift easily from the spectacular indoor infinity pool to the soothing whirlpool; from the cleansing sauna to the clarifying aroma steam room and refreshing drench showers. Retractable panels let the outdoors in when the sun shines — so you can enjoy the view from the water itself.
Set within more than 400 acres of countryside near Bude, in North Cornwall, our pools are open seven days a week and shared by families and adults alike. Whether you're here to swim lengths before breakfast or simply to float the afternoon away, there's a session and a space for everyone.
Indoors
The Indoor Infinity Pool.
Our beautiful indoor infinity pool is held at a constant 29–30°C — warm enough to relax in, yet comfortable enough to swim lengths for exercise. In keeping with our natural ethos, the water is treated with UV light rather than heavy chlorine, for a gentler swim that's kinder to skin and eyes.
A dedicated children's pool sits alongside the main pool, so even the youngest guests have their own safe, shallow space to splash and discover. As evening falls, a rainbow lighting feature transforms the whole room into something quietly magical.
Retractable panels open the pool to the Cornish countryside beyond — bringing in light, air and views whenever the weather allows.

The Outdoor Pool.
Measuring 17 metres by 8 metres, our outdoor pool has a southerly aspect that makes it one of the finest sun traps in North Cornwall. The depth ranges from 1 to 1.5 metres — generous enough for a proper swim, gentle enough for families.
Poolside changing rooms, showers and toilet facilities are right beside the water, so you can move straight from a swim to a lounger and back again. The outdoor pool is open throughout the summer months.

The pool is open seven days a week. Adults-only sessions bookend each day for quieter lap swimming, while dedicated kids' swim times keep the middle of the day full of splashing.

The pool is free for everyone staying on the estate. If you live locally, you can join as a member — or visit for a spa day.

W Club Membership.
Local? Become a member. Gym membership covers the fitness suite, while Full membership adds the Pool & Gym facilities, an induction, 15% off spa treatments and free parking.

You don't need to stay to swim. Our spa days open the pool, sauna, steam room and gym to day visitors — paired with a treatment of your choice and lunch at The Weir.

What are the pool opening hours at The W Club?
The swimming pool is open Monday to Friday 7:00am–8:00pm and Saturday to Sunday 8:00am–7:00pm. Kids' swim times run daily, with a morning session 9:30–11:30am and an afternoon session 2:00–5:30pm. Pool hours may change on festive days.
When are the adults-only swim times?
Adults-only swimming is reserved Monday to Friday from 7:00–9:00am and 6:00–8:00pm, and Saturday to Sunday from 8:00–9:00am and 6:00–7:00pm. These quieter sessions are ideal for lap swimming and unwinding.
Can non-residents use the pool at Whalesborough?
Pool access is included free with every cottage and Arvor stay. Non-residents can use the pool through W Club membership — Gym membership from £47 per month or Full membership (Pool & Gym) from £77 per month — or as part of a spa day.
