The routes

Walks for every energy level

Whether your dog is ready to run for miles or prefers a gentle amble, the estate has something to suit. All routes depart from the resort — no driving required.

Short Route · ~1 hour

The Woodland Loop

A gentle circular walk through the estate's woodland and meadows. Good for early mornings or a gentle evening stroll. The woodland shelters deer, woodpeckers and a remarkable range of wildflowers through spring and summer.

Medium Route · ~2 hours

The Canal Walk

Follow the estate trail down toward Bude Canal, one of the most peaceful waterways in Cornwall. A flat, easy walk with great scenery and plenty of interesting smells for dogs along the towpath and riverbanks.

Full Route · ~2.5 hours

Estate Trail to Widemouth Bay

The full 5km estate trail that takes you all the way from the resort to Widemouth Bay — a broad sandy beach where dogs are welcome year-round. A brilliant day out: walk down, play on the beach, walk back or catch a taxi.

On the estate

A few things to know

  • Dogs should be kept on leads in areas near farm animals and around other guests' cottages
  • The estate includes working farmland — please respect any temporary closures
  • Dog waste bags are available at the resort reception
  • Fresh water bowls are provided outside The Weir Restaurant
  • Dogs must not be left unattended in cottages — if you need to head out, reception can advise on local dog-sitting options

Further afield

Beyond the estate

When the estate isn't enough — and sometimes it won't be — the North Cornish coast offers some of the finest dog walking in England. Black Rock, Northcott Mouth and Millook Haven are all within easy reach and welcome dogs year-round.

The South West Coast Path starts just a couple of miles away, and Bodmin Moor is under an hour for a bigger adventure.
