Beaches and water sports on the doorstep
You don't need to drive far. Millook Haven, Widemouth Beach and Summerleaze are all within a few minutes of the resort — wide sandy beaches suited to young families, with safe bathing and plenty of space to play.
For something more adventurous, the Bude Canoe Experience offers guided canoe tours through breathtaking North Cornish scenery, spotting rare wildlife along the way. Local surf schools cater for beginners of all ages, and there's sea fishing available along the coast.
Back at the resort, the indoor pool and a seasonal outdoor pool are always a hit — no need for the sun to come out.
Days out & attractions
Something for every age
Cornwall offers an extraordinary range of family experiences — from ancient castles to wildlife parks, quiet harbours to full-on theme parks.
Tintagel Castle
Easily one of the most popular family destinations in Cornwall. The dramatic castle ruins cling to a headland above the Atlantic, connected by a striking high footbridge with vertiginous views down to the sea below.
Steeped in Arthurian legend — said to be the birthplace of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table — it's a fantastic way to bring history to life for children and adults alike.
Camel Creek Adventure Park
Rides and attractions for all ages, plus restaurants, cafés, shops and a meerkat enclosure. The park also features the UK's most advanced 5D theatre experience — a brilliant wet-weather option when Cornwall does what Cornwall does.
Perfect for a full day out with younger children who might need a break from the beach.
Newquay Zoo
Home to over 1,000 of the world's rarest and most endangered animals, Newquay Zoo is a wonderful day out for the whole family. Family tickets are available and the zoo sits right in the heart of Newquay, so you can combine a visit with a stroll along Fistral Beach.
Newquay itself has beaches, surf schools, dining and one of the UK's most popular theme parks on its doorstep too.
Museum of Witchcraft & Magic
One of the world's largest collections of witchcraft and magical artefacts, with over 3,000 objects on display. Open since 1960 and housed in the beautiful harbour village of Boscastle — itself an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
While you're in Boscastle, look out for seals in the harbour year-round and puffins during the breeding season. Boat trips are available from the quay.
